Introductory American Innovation $1 Coin

This introductory coin to the American Innovation $1 Coin Program is certified by PCGS if a Reverse PF70 grade. Attributed to the Chicago ANA Show, this is also a First Day Issue.

REVERSE: In honor of George Washington's signing of the first U.S. patent, the reverse features the president's signature along with the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AMERICAN INNOVATORS, and SIGNED FIRST PATENT. Stylized gears also make up some of the design representing industry.

OBVERSE: A dramatic representation of the Statue of Liberty is featured on the obverse, which is the constant design throughout the series. IN GOD WE TRUST and $1 are inscribed in addition to a stylized gear privy mark representing industry and innovation.

American Innovation Dollar Program

The American Innovation $1 Coin Program was inaugurated in 2018 as part of a broader effort to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States. This series celebrates the spirit of innovation and the contributions of individuals and groups who have significantly impacted American society. Each coin in the series features unique designs representing different states and territories, showcasing their distinctive innovations and contributions to the nation.

Since its inception, the American Innovation Dollar series has achieved several key milestones. The program began with the release of the first coin, honoring Delaware, followed by subsequent releases highlighting the innovative achievements of other states, such as Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Scheduled to continue for several years, the series will introduce new coins that celebrate American ingenuity and progress. They are available in multiple finishes from Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco including Brilliant Uncirculated, Proof, and Reverse Proof.
