United States Mint Releases 2019 $2 Rocketship Currency Note For Kids

As we approach the official 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission (July 20, 1969) that placed the first man on the moon, the United States Mint continues its efforts to reach out to youngsters and potential future collectors. As coins have already been the focus of their efforts, they, in conjunction with the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, are releasing a currency note.

2019 $2 Rocketship

At noon on June 18th, the 2019 $2 Rocketship was released that features a Series 2013 $2 uncirculated Federal Reserve note with a serial number starting with 2019. Produced at both the Washington, D.C. and Ft. Worth, Texas facilities, these notes arrive in a colorful informational folder that features fun facts for the kids. The note itself will be protected by a clear sleeve. This new space-themed product also features some of the newest promotional characters aimed at the youth, the Mighty Minters.

Household limits are currently capped at 50 with a mintage limit of 24,000.
