We say it all the time: United States coinage has a rich history. From different denominations to coin series to designers and engravers, and more, no one could ever fully understand or learn the intricate web that has been spun over hundreds of years. There is never a moment when a coin dealer or collector or anyone who takes an interest in this hobby can sit down and truly say that they know everything there is to know about coins from this great country. That is why when we feel there is something to learn and explore, we often turn to our blogs to help us. In turn, we get to inform someone else who could learn something new and that is all it takes to keep the web going.
With that said, we are now introducing a new blog series at The Roundtable that will focus on United States Coin Designers. A lot of designers were also Chief Engravers and we will explore those men, but some were just prominent artists, sculptors, and engravers that were employed by the United States Mint. You hear their names and you may associate them with some of the most popular U.S. coins out there, but how much do you know about them? That is where we come in!
We cannot wait to get started with this series and hope you learn more about these behind the scenes creators of some of the most well-known coins around the world!
