The Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) is officially looking to fill two positions as four-year terms are expiring on the 11-member committee. The United States Mint is accepting applications for appointment until 5pm on Friday, October 7, 2022.
The CCAC was established to do the following:
- Advise the Secretary of the Treasury on any theme or design proposals relating to circulating coins, bullion, Congressional Gold Medals, and national and other medals produced by the Mint.
- Advise the Secretary of the Treasury with regard to the events, persons, or places that the CCAC recommends to be commemorated by the issuance of commemorative coins in each of the five calendar years succeeding the year in which a commemorative coin designation is made.
- Make recommendations with respect to the mintage level for any commemorative coin recommended.
Persons looking to apply to the appointed positions must be qualified to serve on the CCAC as regard to their education, training, and experience in American history.
