On this Patriot Day, the United States Mint is preparing to release the United States Marine Corps One-Ounce Silver Medal as part of the Armed Forces Silver Medal program. You can add this next in the series to your collection beginning at 12pm EST.
Honoring the U.S. Marine Corps, the obverse of the .999 fine silver medal depicts three Marines with M4 rifles having just landed ashore. One of the Marines is seen lying in the grass, covering the other two about to come over the hill. A United States warship is also seen off in the distance. “U.S. MARINE CORPS,” and “EVERY MARINE A RIFLEMAN” can be seen inscribed along the top and to the right of the design.
The reverse features the Marine Corps Eagle, Globe, and Anchor emblem that is encircled by a rope border. “HONOR,” “COURAGE,” and “COMMITMENT” are inscribed at the top as they are the core values of the Marines. Their motto, “SEMPER FIDELIS,” is also seen at the bottom, meaning “Always Faithful.”
With a matte finish, the one Troy ounce silver medal will come in Original Government Packaging accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
