Tomorrow’s the day! The 2024 Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars will be made available beginning at 12pm EST from the United States Mint. Struck at Philadelphia, the 2024-dated Morgan Silver Dollar will bear no mint mark and be comprised of 0.859 troy ounces of 99.9% silver.
Designed by United States Mint Chief Engraver George T. Morgan, Morgan dollars were produced from 1878-1904 and then again in 1921. With modern technology, the Mint was able to bring back the famed silver dollar in 2021 in celebration of its 100th anniversary.
Limited to 275,000 in product and mintage, the coin will retail for $91.00. There will also be an initial household order limit of 25.
In addition to the Morgan dollar, the Mint will also release the 2024-dated Peace dollar from Philadelphia. Also available for $91.00, the coin will have an identical mintage and product limit as the Morgan dollar of 275,000. The household limit order is also 25.
The Peace dollar was first struck from 1921-1928, and then again from 1934-1935. It was designed by Anthony de Francisci and symbolized the nation’s international power while celebrating and honoring the sacrifices made in World War I. The Mint brought back the famous silver dollar in 2021 to mark the transition from the Morgan dollar to the Peace dollar.
The 2024 Peace dollar will be comprised of 0.859 troy ounces of 99.9% silver.
