The last time we left you with a 2024 United States Mint Production Schedule update was in June. Since then, some dates have been confirmed and some products have been announced. Let us see what the rest of 2024 has in store for us.
Starting off October on the 2nd, the United States Mint will continue its Presidential Silver Medal Program with the release of Grover Cleveland. Retailing at $90.00, the 1oz .999 fine silver medal is the 22nd in the series that releases based on the order in which the Presidents served. Struck at San Francisco, this is the fourth and final medal to release this year.
Perhaps one of the biggest releases of the year is the 230th Anniversary Flowing Hair Silver Medal. The Flowing Hair dollar was the first dollar coin issued by the United States Mint and was issued in 1794 and 1975. Set for October 15, the medal will be struck at Philadelphia and will be available for $104.00. The household limit is set at five.
The fifth and final release of the 2024 American Women Quarters will feature Zitkala-Ša, or Red Bird and will be available October 28th. Zitkala-Ša left her home on the Yankton reservation in South Dakota at the young age of just eight to attend a boarding school run by white missionaries. There, her native culture and traditions were not allowed. She would grow up to become a composer, writer, educator, and political activist for Native Americans’ right to obtain United States citizenship and to gain the other civil rights they had been denied. The quarter dollars will be available from Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco (3-roll sets only). The 100-coin bags retail at $45.00, the 2-roll coin sets at $40.00, and the 3-roll sets at $60.00
The remainder of the Fall has just been scheduled and features the 230th Anniversary Flowing Hair Gold Coin on November 14th, the 2024 American Innovation $1 Coin Reverse Proof Set from San Francisco on December 10th, the 2024 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set on November 5th, and the 2024 Morgan & Peace Dollar Two-Coin Reverse Proof Set on November 21st.
As always, dates are subject to change.
