Back in 2015, the United States Mint began a series that would be released every other year. This series was the American Liberty Program and its intention from the get-go was to celebrate modern interpretations of our Lady Liberty. These new versions would and should represent freedom and equality while also representing their ever-changing evolution brought forth by the depiction of a female figure such as Lady Liberty. While giving this figure a modern look, it would also depict our nation’s connection with the past in addition to looking towards a future that features diversity and culture.
As 2017 was the last year to release a silver and gold high relief medal in the series, tomorrow will be the third release as the Mint will have a 2019 American Liberty High Relief Silver Medal as well as a High Relief Gold Coin. Each will have a 50,000 mintage limit as they will be available on August 15th at noon EST.
