We are nearly in August and the year has officially gone where, you ask? We wish we had the answer for you as to why every year that goes by seems to fly by in the blink of an eye. While we do not have those answers, we do have some for you courtesy of the United States Mint. If you were wondering what the rest of 2022 looked like as far as the production schedule is concerned, they have released new details outlining those products for the rest of the year.
Kicking off the month of August, the Mint will release the 2022-S Proof American Silver Eagle from San Francisco on 8/9. Retailing at $73, there is currently no mintage or product limit listed. The 15th of August will see the Presidential Silver Medal release for Millard Fillmore followed by the 2022 American Women's Quarter featuring Nina Otero-Warren on the reverse on the 16th. It’s the fourth release for the quarter dollar series this year. Also on the 16th, the U.S. Air Force One-Ounce Silver Medal will be available.
Perhaps one of the more exciting releases yet to come this year is the August 18th availability of the 2022 American Liberty Silver Medal. Seen on last year’s modern take of the 2021 High Relief American Liberty Gold Coin, the design has now been brought to 2022 on a Silver Medal. Featuring the same wild mustang horse bucking off a saddle on the obverse and a close up view of an eagle on the reverse, this new medal will surely be on every collector’s list. Both the product and mintage limit is set at 75,000, making this a highly anticipated product at just $75 one to watch.
Rounding out the month of August is the Tennessee American Innovation $1 Coin. Featured in Rolls and Bags from Denver and Philadelphia, the coin is the last release for the 2022 series.
On September 8th, the 2022 One Ounce Palladium Reverse Proof American Eagle Coin will be available. Struck at West Point, mintage and product limits, retail, and product details are still unknown. At the tail end of the month, the U.S. Coast Guard One Ounce Silver Medal will be available for collectors.
Slated for October 3rd, the Presidential Silver Medal featuring Franklin Pierce will be available. October 25th will see the fifth and final 2022 American Women’s Quarter featuring Anna May Wong. The next day, perhaps the last big product for the Mint will be released for the year. The 2022 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set will be ready to go for the masses. Details are still TBD at the moment.
Lastly, the 2022 American Innovation $1 Coin Reverse Proof Set from San Francisco will be released on November 14th.
As always, times and dates for releases are subject to change.
