The next in the Presidential Silver Medal Program from the United States Mint is scheduled to be released today at 12pm EST. Honoring the 17th President of the United States, the medal will be available for $75.00.
Struck in one ounce of .999 fine silver, the silver medal honors Andrew Johnson who served from 1865 to 1869. After President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated, Johnson stepped into the presidency as he was Lincoln’s Vice President at the time.
The obverse features a bust of Andrew Johnson with “ANDREW JOHNSON,” “PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES,” and “1865” inscribed around the outer edges. The reverse depicts a Native American clasping the hand of Columbia. The bust of George Washington sits between them in the background with “PEACE” inscribed on the podium. Surrounding them are elements symbolic of American life, both native and industrial.
There are no mintage, product, or household limits.
