If you are an avid collector of numismatics, you already know that the end of April is host to National Coin Week! It has been a long-standing tradition in the hobby, and this year it also happens to be the 100th anniversary of the event!
Hosted by the American Numismatic Association, this year’s celebration will take place between April 21-27 and “will focus on how coinage and money have evolved and changed to embrace varying cultural values over time,” according to the ANA. Educational and promotional materials will be offered by the ANA throughout the week in addition to activities for members.
In addition, the ANA is also offering live webinars and presentations from prominent figures throughout the hobby. Young numismatists are also invited to take part in Youth Activity for National Coin Week for a chance to win a prize. Grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12 will be available options to choose from based on levels.
