U.S. Mint's Presidential Silver Medal Program Continues With Grover Cleveland

The Presidential Silver Medal Program from the United States Mint continues today with the 22nd President of the United States, Grover Cleveland. Released in the order the presidents served with four medals featured each year, this is the final medal for 2024. The medal will be available beginning at 12pm EST for $90.00.

Grover Cleveland served two terms as President of the United States. He was an American politician who was elected to serve from 1885-1889 (22nd) and again from 1893-1897 (24th). He was the only President in United States history that was elected to nonconsecutive terms.

Before becoming the President of the United States, Cleveland was the mayor of Buffalo and the governor of New York. He became famous for his crusade against corruption and was the first Democrat elected President after the American Civil War (1861-1865). Even though he only served twice, Cleveland won the popular vote in three Presidential elections, including 1884, 1888, and 1892.

The bust of the 1oz .999 fine silver medal struck at San Francisco features Grover Cleveland with his name inscribed on either side of him. The reverse depicts an oak wreath with the following inscription in the center: “INAUGURATED PRESIDENT OF·THE·UNITED·STATES MARCH·4·1885,” “SECOND·TERM MARCH·4·1893.”
