The first of four American Innovation Dollars for 2025 will be released in rolls and bags tomorrow beginning at 12pm EST from the United States Mint. Michigan will start off the year with Florida set to release next month.
Beginning in 2018 with an introductory coin and following up with four coins per year, the multi-year series aims to honor innovation and innovators for each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the five United States territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Northern Mariana Islands). This year, the four states being honored are Arkansas, Michigan, Florida, and Texas.
On the reverse, a team of auto workers are featured in a 1930s-era assembly line as they are seen lowering an automobile cab into place. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, MICHIGAN, and AUTO ASSEMBLY LINE are inscribed as well.
A dramatic representation of the Statue of Liberty is seen on the obverse, remaining the constant design throughout the series. “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “$1” are inscribed in addition to a stylized gear privy mark representing industry and innovation. Mintage year, mint mark and “E PLURIBUS UNUM” are incused on the edge of the coins.
The 25-coin rolls will be available from both Philadelphia and Denver and will retail for $36.25. The 100-coin bags will retail at $123.50. There is no mintage limits set, and the household order limit will initially be capped at 10.
